The Halloween Fairy is Not So Scary

November 7th, 2007

During the week after Halloween, children all across the nation are digging into the bags of goodies that they collected from trick-or-treating while parents are trying to find ways to prevent them from eating too much and rotting their teeth. Some parents are pulling out the typical “candy causes cavities” line, while others are hiding their children’s treat bags, or just throwing it all away. Well, to keep her children from eating their Halloween candy, my friend enlists the help of the Halloween Fairy.

You’ve never heard of the Halloween Fairy? My friend explains it this way. She tells her children that if they leave their bags of trick-or-treating loot at the ends of their beds on Halloween night, the Halloween Fairy will replace their candy with a present. You see, the Halloween Fairy has titanium teeth, so she can eat all of the candy she wants and not have to worry about cavities. Ingenious!
